More than 600 bloggers are expected to attend the Travel Blog Exchange Asia (TBEX Asia) this week.
TBEX was first held in 2008 and has been organised annually in Europe and the United States. As attendance has grown significantly, the organisers decided to venture into Asia in recognition of the immense market potential and high growth in visitor arrivals.
About 50 per cent of the 600 bloggers attending are expected to come from the Americas, 30 per cent from Europe, and 20 per cent from Asia and Australia.
The event will launch with a Loi Krathong themed opening party on the evening of 15 October. Delegates will have the chance to learn how to make their own Krathong, sample Thai food and enjoy spectacular Thai cultural performances.
The three-day event will highlight a plethora of interesting activities, including breakout sessions in various topics by well-versed bloggers and online writers, including Amber Hoffman, Sharon Gourlay, Andrew Chow and Michael Collins.
Apart from gaining knowledge and expanding networks, TBEX attendees will get the chance to discover Thainess first-hand through a series of comprehensive pre- and post-tour programs, totalling 67 routes that highlight ‘#DiscoverThainess’ products, including a Muay Thai lesson, Thai cooking class, a tuk-tuk tour and a Thai spa experience.
Held from 15 to 17 October, 2015, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in Bangkok, TBEX Asia 2015 is being jointly supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA).
Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of TAT said, “TBEX Asia 2015 will provide a unique opportunity for us to strengthen the longstanding position of Thailand as the leading tourist destination in Asia.”
