Adventure adds spice to a holiday – and Thailand offers a huge range of exciting activities to get your adrenaline flowing.

If you love water sports, the stunning islands of Phuket and Krabi have everything from jet-skiing and parasailing to banana boating and marine fishing.

The archipelagos of Similan and Surin Islands are home to around 75 per cent of Thailand’s coral species – they attract scuba-divers and snorkelers from around the world. Beneath the emerald and sapphire surface you can swim with schools of barracuda, manta rays, whale sharks, lionfish, leatherback turtles, squid, octopus and giant gorgonian sea fans.

Or you could travel inland to Khao Yai National Park to experience abseiling as never before – between two spectacular waterfalls. Even getting there can be an adventure. You might find yourself kayaking across a lake or trekking through a jungle where a rustle in the undergrowth could be the sound of a wild elephant, a gibbon or a hornbill.
